Raoul Pal
Co-Founder/ CEO
Raoul Pal has over 30 years of experience in hedge funds and asset allocation and has been involved in digital assets since 2012. He is widely considered one of the key influencers in crypto and has deep access to everyone that matters.
Before crypto and digital assets, Raoul ran Goldman’s hedge fund sales in Equities and Equity Derivatives business in Europe and a $500 million global macro hedge fund for GLG.Raoul is the Founder of the Global Macro Investor and is a co-founder of Real Vision, a financial media company offering in-depth interviews and market views of the best investors in the world.

John Pridjian
Co-Founder
John has over 30 years of experience as a CFO and former partner with Deloitte and Sidley Austin. He is renowned for his operational excellence as a partner with Old Peak Group, a highly successful Soros Management spin-off hedge fund and Family Office where he manages finance and risk. During his career, John raised over $1 billion in investment fund equity, and raised and managed debt facilities several times larger. John also holds a CPA, is a member of the State Bar of California and has served on numerous investment fund and public company boards of directors

Paulo Baia
Head of Manager Research
Paulo comes with decades of deep experience in manager selection for fund of funds. He was Head of Research and part of the key team that built Société Générale’s $12bn fund of funds platform, Principal/Head of Research and Investments at $3bn Nexar Capital, and Head of Research and Investments for UBP’s world-renowned fund of funds platform; Paulo more recently managed the digital asset investment and hedge fund portfolio for a single-family office.
Paulo is one of the world’s most experienced experts in manager selection, has tremendous knowledge of crypto hedge funds and is truly passionate about the digital asset ecosystem.

Pierre Henry
Chief Commercial Officer
Pierre is an experienced public and private company executive.
Previously, Pierre was CEO of Trine II Acquisition Corp. and CFO/EVP of Trine Acquisition Corp., publicly traded investment funds focused on disruptive technology and upper middle market infrastructure. Pierre raised $1bn from some of the world’s most important investors across the Trine vehicles. A noted success for shareholders was Pierre’s sourcing, structuring, and closing of Desktop Metal, the first pure-play additive manufacturing company in the world to trade on The New York Stock Exchange.
Prior to Trine, Pierre was VP of Corporate Development and Investor Relations at Hemisphere Media Group, a NASDAQ traded media company with a $500m portfolio of film & TV IP/cable assets in the US and LATAM.
Pierre got his start as an investor / entrepreneur in Asia, working in private equity, film development, and consulting roles across companies such as Rakuten, Walt Disney, and Kylin Capital (麒麟资本).
A native of New York City, Pierre holds degrees from The University of Chicago (A.B), University of Cambridge (MPhil), and Stanford’s Graduate School of Business (MBA).

Julien Bittel
Head of Asset Allocation
Julien is an experienced asset allocation expert with a decade of experience. He is the Head of Macro Research at Global Macro Investor and contributes his expertise to EXPAAM, where he helps determine asset allocation regimes within EADAF, EXPAAM’s flagship fund of funds strategy, and anticipates turning points therein to maximize returns.
Julien’s well-honed and precise top-down strategic macro view complements the bottom-up work Paulo is conducting on managers and their underlying trading styles and portfolios, and maximizes ROI for EADAF investors while minimizing risk factors and possible losses.
Julien previously worked at Pictet Asset Management where he co-managed several of Pictet’s Multi Asset Funds, overseeing a total AUM of CHF 5Bn, and won a number of Morningstar Awards, including Multi Asset Fund of the Year in 2019/2020.
Prior to assuming a fund management role, Julien worked as a Multi Asset Investment Strategist in London with a focus on global macro investing.
Julien is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder and received a BSc in Business Administration with a minor in Economics from the University of Colorado, after growing up in Santa Fe, New Mexico. In addition to speaking at multiple CFA events, Julien has written several pieces for the press, appeared in TV interviews and was a guest speaker at the London School of Economics (LSE) on the topic of global macro investing.

Tyler Purviance
EXPAAM Australia
Tyler comes from the traditional finance world with a background in fixed income, currency, and credit. He has been working in fund management for nearly 20 years. Tyler’s passion for digital assets has spanned a decade, and he recently made the decision to transition to the crypto industry full-time by joining EXPAAM in 2023. At present, he leads the Australian segment of Expaam, where he is responsible for managing client relationships and developing strategies for the region.
Tyler holds an MBA from INSEAD and is a CFA and CAIA charterholder.

Matthias Föhr
Quantitative Engineer
Matthias has a quantitative background with a master’s degree in financial mathematics and work experience in technical areas such as financial engineering and IT development. In his first position at Scalable Capital, Europe’s largest digital wealth manager, he was coding and managing the portfolio management platform and investment strategy engine which algorithmically executes orders for more than 200k retail client portfolios. Before joining Exponential Age Asset Management, he worked as a Quantitative Engineer at Munich Re Investment Partners and contributed to their IT backend and IT security.

Scott Wijayatilake
Research Analyst
Scott has a background in traditional finance and previously worked at one of the fastest growing non-bank financial institutions in the UK. Prior to that, he gained experience in London’s start-up scene working with early-stage companies looking to raise funding. Scott has a Bachelor of Arts in History and Politics and is fascinated with the cyclicality involved in the former, and how this can be applied to markets. Moreover, having grown up in a world of ultra-low interest rates and unconventional monetary policy he came to the conclusion that crypto and macro were one and the same. Ultimately, this led to the desire to pursue a career in the fund management side of the digital asset ecosystem.

Dr. Moritz Heiden
Technology & Quantitative Development
Moritz had his first glimpse at the investment world at the start of the GFC and quickly decided to return to university to pursue a PhD in statistics. Subsequent to grinding through the academic machine and publishing several papers on machine learning and volatility modeling, he completed his thesis on “asymmetry and nonlinearity in forecasting multivariate stock market volatility.” He started his non-academic career at a large German Asset Manager and moved on to Scalable Capital, Europe’s largest digital wealth manager to spend more time coding and implementing asset allocation strategies for more than 200k retail client portfolios and a total of $15bn assets under management. After Scalable, Moritz served as the Head of Quant Research at Munich Re Investment Partners, a quantitative investment manager and subsidiary of the Munich Re group. Today, Moritz advises Expaam on Technology & Quantitative Development.
